LIP FILLERS

My special lip techniques give you soft, flexible lips with a beautifully defined border, highlighted by a sheen of light. I create a gentle curve for your lower lip pout, mimicking the anatomy of a naturally full lip.

Proportion is very important. I usually follow the ‘golden ratio’ which says your bottom lip should be 1.6 times bigger than your top lip – although sometimes I will adjust this to best suit your face.

I also check your side view to measure how far your lips protrude compared to your nose and chin. Getting this correct makes your lips look great from any angle.

It’s different for everyone. The ideal size lip for you is one that fits your face. It is your own eyes and cheekbones that guide me to create the perfect size lip for you.

This 62-year-old lady had big lips when she was younger. As expected with ageing they shrunk over the years. I carefully restored her lip border, increased her lip size and supported around her mouth using 2 syringes of Juvederm Ultra over two sessions. This 43-year-old lady has lovely full lips but was noticing dehydration, lip lines and reduced definition. I used one syringe of Juvederm Ultra to restore her lip border and smooth her lip and smile lines. I also used my special lip hydration technique of very thin threads to smooth the texture of her lips with minimal increase in size.

This 40-year-old woman had noticed her mouth corners turning down and felt her lips made her look angry.

I placed two syringes of Juvederm Ultra over two sessions to lift her mouth corners. I also increased the size of her lower lip to better suit the “Golden Ratio” which says your lower lip should be larger than your upper lip.

Mostly, I use Juvederm Ultra. It gives a curve and structure to the lip that no other filler can match. For subtle lip gloss results, I use Juvederm Volift, and for lip lines I use very light fillers like Belotero Soft, Juvederm Volbella or Juvederm Volite.

This 45-year-old Indian lady has a lovely natural lip size and shape. She had noticed crinkling in her lip tissues as she got older. To give her a smooth “lip gloss effect” I used one syringe of the very soft Juvederm Volift to provide a beautiful lush finish.

My lip appointments take 60 minutes. This gives me plenty of time to make sure the treatment is comfortable for you, and to adjust your lips until they’re as beautiful as possible.

This is a side angle of the same 62-year-old lady whose lips you can see in Question 3. I used 2 syringes of Juvéderm Ultra to restore her once-full lips to their former glory by increasing their size, defining the border and smoothing creases and folds around her mouth.

When you walk out of your lip treatment, your lips will look slightly swollen, red and “blurry”. Your lips won’t be huge – only very observant friends who’ve had filler themselves might notice. Most people will not be able to tell. Over the next few hours, the swelling will reduce.

For the first few days, your lips will feel slightly tender, and firmer than usual. You might see or feel small lumps. These will disappear as your filler softens and blends gradually over the next four to six weeks. This process is called ‘tissue integration”.

You might notice a bruise appear 12 – 24 hours after treatment. Bruises inside the lip disappear within a couple of days and are best covered with dark lipstick. Bruises around the lip can be covered with concealer and may take 7-14 days to fade completely.
